I bought the Blu-Ray version of Advent Children about two weeks ago. I don't post in my journal as much I should then again I don't do much with DA mainly because I don't have a scanner to upload shit.....anyways!

On to AC Blu-Ray edition. Now I'm not going to review the story itself because any of us know the story. What I am going to review are the new add-ons to the original movie, and other side features.

First the main show: The movie's plot is the same Kadaj and his gang are trying to find Mother and believe Cloud may be the key. In the end Sephiroth is reborn and defeated again by Cloud. Square-Enix took advantage of the Blu-Ray disc since the movie looks amazing. Everything has been improved new scenes have been added to help progress the story, more scenes explaining Denzel's origin. The sheer scale of which they improved this movie is staggering, so many things are in detail where in the original they didn't event appear. My favorite change would have to be the final fight between Sephiroth and Cloud, which was changed around a lot since the original.

Next is the extra stuff. On the original DVD they provided a 22 minute video called Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII, which takes all the major points of the original game so you're caught up for the movie. A new video called Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII Compilation is also included, this video jumps between the interweaving story of Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and a few scenes of the original game. Not necessary to watch but still a great video for FF fans. A full episode from the On the Way to a Smile is also included. This episode is about Denzel and what happened to him a few days before Meteor nearly hit the planet, and a the time after the Event.

Two smaller things are a Final Fantasy XIII trailer and a video about the Legacy of Final Fantasy VII, explaining its impact to the gaming community and FF as a whole.

My final rating out of 10 rating I would have to say its an 8. Its a great buy and worth the money you would spend. Seeing the movie with all its improvements and in full 1080p is amazing. If you have a PS3 or a Blu-Ray and a fan of Final Fantasy VII I say buy it even if you already have the DVD like me. Even if you've never played a Final Fantasy watching the back story videos you can still fully enjoy the movie and its great CGI.
